Was raised in the same era, no seat belts in cars in the late 50s, was a test subject for Dr. Salk and his live polio vaccine in San Diego school system. Walked 2.5 miles each way to school. Had to be half a mile farther for bus service, imagine. No cable TV, FM radio was a new thing. All the great rock and roll music was on AM anyway. Color TV broadcasting was just coming into being on the west coast in the very late 50s. The world was different, but also changing rapidly to what was the wild late 60s, except I got to spent two years four months in Vietnam when others were in college, go figure. No complaints, would not do it over again.
